Tellmemore ("we", "us") makes AI-generated illustrated audio stories for children, used by parents on behalf of their kids. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control or delete it.

Who this covers

Parent accounts are created and controlled by an adult (the parent or guardian). Child profiles are created by that parent inside their account โ€” children do not register their own account or provide data directly to us.

Data we collect

  • Parent account: email address, password (hashed, never stored in plain text) or OAuth identity, name, and billing/subscription status.
  • Child profile: display name, birth date (used only to pick age-appropriate content), preferred language, and avatar โ€” set by the parent, not the child.
  • Voice input: when a child speaks a story idea, the audio is transcribed to text (via OpenAI Whisper) and then discarded; the transcript is what we keep.
  • Optional parent voice cloning:if a parent explicitly records and consents to it, we create a synthetic voice model (via our TTS provider) so stories can be narrated in that parent's voice. This is off by default and only ever created from a parent's own recording.
  • Optional character reference photos: parents may upload a photo of a real person (e.g. a family member) so the AI can generate a story character resembling them. This is opt-in per character.
  • Generated content: the stories, illustrations, audio narration and video created for a child, plus usage metadata (which AI models were used, credits spent) needed for billing and abuse prevention.
  • Product usage: basic app events (e.g. story created, feature used) and error reports, to keep the product working.

How we use it

To generate stories and illustrations (Anthropic Claude, GPT Image), synthesize narration (Cartesia), transcribe spoken prompts (OpenAI Whisper), run the account/subscription system, and provide customer support. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use children's data for advertising.

Where it's stored / who processes it

Media (illustrations, audio, video, reference photos) is stored on Cloudflare R2. Account and story data is stored in our PostgreSQL database. Story text and prompts are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Cartesia) solely to generate the requested content, under their respective processor agreements โ€” they do not use this data to train models on our behalf beyond what's needed to serve the request.

Children's privacy

Tellmemore is designed for a parent to set up and supervise on behalf of their child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without parental involvement โ€” every child profile, voice input, and uploaded photo exists because a parent created the account and initiated it. Parents can review, export, or delete their child's data at any time from Settings, or by contacting us (see below).

Your rights & account deletion

You can request an export or full deletion of your account and everything tied to it (child profiles, stories, illustrations, audio, cloned voices, reference photos) at any time. Self-service deletion is available from Settings โ†’ Danger Zone once signed in, and permanently removes the account, its database rows, and its stored media โ€” this cannot be undone. You can also email us at hello@tellmemore.work and we will delete it for you.

Data retention

We keep account and story data for as long as the account is active. If an account is deleted (self-service or by request), the underlying rows and media are removed immediately; media purge failures are retried and logged rather than silently left behind.
